Knowing Gear Coupling Mechanism: Basic for Transmission Of Power

Image
Gear is a round or cylindrical mechanical component with teeth, used to transmit power. Gears are designed to mesh with one another and can alter the speed, torque, or direction of mechanical energy. Coupling is a device that connects two shafts in a mechanical system in order to transfer motion. Gear couplings may be of either flexible type or of the rigid type. A flexible type of coupling can connect aligned shafts or flex to accommodate shafts that are slightly misaligned. A rigid coupling is a unit of hardware used to join two shafts within a motor or mechanical system. It may be used to connect two separate systems, such as a motor and a generator, or to repair a connection within a single system. A rigid coupling may also be added between shafts to reduce shock at the point where the shafts meet one another. Various types of Gear Couplings: A flanged Sleeve gear coupling is a flexible coupling that compensates for angular misalignment, parallel misalignment, and en
